POeP Culture is a project started in Steffi Dippold's English 660 class “Once Upon a Midnight Dreary" at Kansas State University. Our class focused on Edgar Allan Poe by reading a variety of his poems, short stories, and novels along with applicable theory and historical context. For the midterm paper, every student adopted an object from pop culture that references Edgar Allan Poe, spanning from mugs and coloring books to sport mascots! On this site, you find an archive of artifacts and students’ essays close reading the Poe merchandise.
